Hilary Harrison, M.A. Oxon, works for the Oregon Health Authority’s Child and Family Lifespan Behavioral Health team as the children’s behavioral health policy strategist. Hilary has diverse professional experience in the state government, non-profit and business worlds and lived expertise parenting three complex adoptive children, one of whom is a part of the IDD community.
Her roles have included Regional Manager for Oregon Family Support Network, Executive Director for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Linn County and community trainer for mental health, suicide prevention and trauma informed care. After 20 years as a parent and advocate she is now on the “inside,” moving to Oregon Health Authority in 2019. She uses her broad knowledge and lived expertise to help improve the lives of children, youth and families experiencing behavioral health concerns by working on the strategy and policies that will make system improvement. She works on the integration of IDD and behavioral health and runs the weekly opportunity for families to give feedback on the system, Time for Families. She’s a great believer in the importance of community, giving back and is active in her local NAMI, giving presentations for law enforcement Crisis Intervention Trainings.
